Scope and Contents
Includes engravings and drawings of many of the major Haymarket area theaters such as Drury Lane, Her Majesty's and King's (1791-1897), Scene engravings from plays that occurred in the Haymarket area as well as some playbills (1811-1847), Portraits of actors in costume including Edmund Keane and James Carter (1820-1840), regular portraits of actors including one of Helena Modjeska and one of William Farren (1790-1840) and finally, newspaper pictures of the Great Unionist Meeting at the Opera House (1886). Materials are also listed in Series 7: Oversized Items.
